This unit is in great working condition, there is no dent, hardly any scratches in the metal body.
This small microcassette recorder is very clean, plastic case included (as shown in the pictures).
All function seems working normally. Following functions have been tested
- Playback 2.4cm/s, 1.2cm/s Fast-PB (Fast Playback), to Speaker, to earphone - Good
- Recording from own MIC - Good;
- Recording from external MIC input (monaural MIC does NOT include, you cannot test by using stereo MIC) - Good
- REC/BATT indicator (light on) - Good
- Cassette door eject - Good (STOP Button); Tape counter and reset working properly
- Ear phone listening (monaural) - Good
- VOULME control - Good
- External DC 3V input working properly
- Cassette Play/FF/REW/REC/STOP/EJECT/LOCK buttons working properly
- PAUSE switch/Fast-Playback/Tape Speed 2.4/1.2 working properly
- VOR (light on), VOR switch OFF/L/H working properly.
- Battery compartment is super clean and can be closed tightly, no leakage or corrosion
- Use 2 AA Battery working properly
Replaced with a new belt, and tape speed adjusted
- 2.4cm/s tape speed adjusted by using Olympus Test Tape OA-W412 3KHz (NOT included) and
for 1.2cm/s tape speed by using Olympus Test Tape OA-W421 6KHz (NOT included).
- since its Service Manual did not mention Wow & Flutter for this small voice recorder, my test show: for Tape Speed 2.4cm/s, W&F is somewhere between 0.1981~0.35%;
for Tape Speed 1.2cm/s, W&F is somewhere between 0.40~0.55%.
(When tape speed set to 1.2cm/s, Fast Forward function sometimes does not have enough force)
